About Us
World Airwaves is
headquartered in Winchester, Virginia. First formed
as a division of Visual Link Telecommunications in 2003
and focused on the development of high-speed wireless
products and technology. In 2005, the owners of Visual
Link and Rural Broadband Network Services, joined to
form World Airwaves LLC.
World Airwaves has many
years of experience in designing nationwide networks
throughout the world, incorporating good engineering
practices, and working with advanced digital radio
technology in the deployment of unlicensed frequency
bands. Our initial systems will operate on the 2.4 GHz
spectrum, but the design allows use of any of the ISM or
U-NII or any other frequencies as technologies advance.

Team
Mark Bayliss,
CEO/CTO
Mr. Bayliss (47) is
Consulting Wireless developer that has worked with
Lucent, AT&T, Verizon and others. Among his
accomplishments are Director and founding member Of
Vispa (Virginia Isp Association). Mark has spoken at
many events about the future Broadband technology. Mr
Bayliss has spoken twice before congress. Mark has
spoken at the White House to the presidents committee on
e-commerce, and has spoken at McGraw hill conference on
Home land security, the World Future society. Mark has
been a featured speaker at 6 consecutive ISPCONs . Mr
Bayliss is a successful businessman, owning both an ISP
in Winchester, Virginia and a rapidly growing dedicated
server Rental/hosting Company that has expanded to over
forty countries worldwide.
Alex Phillips, VP of
Project Development
Mr. Phillips (45)
has been in the technology industries since 1985.
He has also worked in the Internet Telecommunications
industry since 1995 when he founded the first
Local ISP in Rockingham County offering flat rate
services. Since 95, Mr. Phillips
has developed a commercial broadband wireless network in
Harrisonburg and is presently building a municipally owned
wireless network in the Town of Shenandoah in Page County.
This Municipal network is being funded by the
USDA/RUS broadband grant program.
Dr. William Mularie,
Assistant VP of Corporate Development
Dr. Mularie has extensive
research leadership experience in both the Federal and
private sectors. He currently serves as CEO of the
non-profit Telework Consortium Inc. in Herndon,
Virginia. His roles as a senior executive in the Federal
Government have included Deputy Director of the National
Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) for Systems and
Technology, where he received a Distinguished Civilian
Service Award in 1998, and the Director of the
Information Systems Office (ISO) at the Defense Advanced
Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from August 1998 to
September 2001. He also served a term assignment at the
CIA Office of Technical Services (OTS). Prior to his
government service, Dr. Mularie served in senior
positions with Perkin-Elmer Corporation and the 3M
Corporation. He was a Founder of the National Storage
Industry Consortium (NSIC) and the National Media
Laboratory (NML), serving as Director of the latter from
1988 to 1996. Dr. Mularie has served on numerous
corporate and government boards, including the Defense
Science Board. Dr. Mularie received his Ph.D. degree in
Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering from the
University of Minnesota
Ron Dunn, VP
Special Projects
Mr. Dunn (48) educated in Canada. He is the founding member of Visual Link's Canadian division. Mr. Dunn has extensive experience in project management, software development and design. Visual Link Canada currently offers application development, e-commerce and hosting solutions. Mr. Dunn's experience and knowledge add energy and enthusiasm to the project. While his organizational and communication skills make him an effective team member. Mr. Dunn has developed the World Airwaves documentation, corporate presence and internal systems to date.
